SYRACUSE - A week after coming through with a dramatic Senior Day win at USF, the University of South Florida fell victim to some Senior Day magic at Syracuse.

Orange senior Jenna Caira tossed her fourth career no-hitter Sunday as Syracuse (40-13 overall, 17-5 Big East) won its senior day 7-0 against the 16th-ranked Bulls (45-10, 17-5).

Syracuse jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, collecting a two-out grand slam in the first and adding a 2-run blast one inning later. It was more than enough for Caira, who struck out eight to notch her second no-hitter of the season.

The Bulls tossed a wrinkle into the equation in the fifth, as Kourtney Salvarola hit a soft grounder to the left side, reaching on an error to break up the perfect game. She would be the only USF player to reach base.

Pinch hitting in the seventh inning, Courtney Goff sent a sharp grounder up the middle that looked like it may find the outfield, but Caira managed to deflect the shot toward second, allowing second baseman Stephanie Watts to scoop and fire, nipping Goff at first base.

Syracuse and USF finished the regular season tied for third place in the conference. Syracuse wins the tie-breaker, meaning the Bulls will be a fourth seed in this year's conference tournament, and will face DePaul in the first round.
