TAMPA, OCT. 24, 2015 – USF continues its longest road trip of the season on Sunday with a match at East Carolina at 1 p.m.
The Bulls (6-15, 3-6) are looking to snap a four-match losing streak, all of which have been with the score of 3-1. The latest defeat came at the hands of UCF on Wednesday.
Sunday's match will be the second of four consecutive road matches and the first of two USF-ECU installments this season. The Bulls will later host the Pirates on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
Bulls in the Spotlight
- Dakota Hampton was named to The American's weekly honor roll after posting double-doubles last weekend. The junior outside hitter has recorded a double-double in six consecutive matches. Hampton currently ranks 10th in the conference with 3.05 kills per set.
- Sophomore Joli Holland ranks sixth in The American with a hitting percentage of .313.
- Wylie Devlin is sixth in The American with 4.81 digs per set. The senior libero currently ranks 13th all-time at USF with 1,057 career digs.
A Look at the Series
USF leads the all-time series 4-2 including a 2-1 edge in Greenville. The two teams split the series last season with each team winning at home.
A Look at East Carolina
The Pirates lost to UCF on Friday 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-16). Sophomore Ashton Mares led the Pirates' attack with 12 kills and 11 digs for her sixth consecutive double-double. Lauren Bewick added 15 digs, while Erika Figueroa also had 11 digs. Sabrina Gonzalez registered 24 assists.
Six of the Pirates' 10 wins have come by 3-0 scores. With one more sweep, they will eclipse the total from all of last season.
