GREENVILLE, N.C., FEB. 15, 2015 – Junior guard Courtney Williams scored 26 of her team-high 34 points in the second half, nearly leading a 15-point comeback as No. 25/25 USF fell to ECU on the road Sunday, 65-64.

Williams, cracking the 20-point barrier for the 10th straight game, knocked down a big three-pointer to cut the lead to three with 33 seconds left, then stole the ball and scored a contested lay-up to bring  the Bulls within one with 19 seconds remaining.

ECU missed four consecutive free throws to end the game, but the Bulls couldn't get a shot off, losing the ball at half court with seven seconds left for their 22nd turnover of the game, then failing to get an open look after a rebound in the final four seconds.

The Bulls trailed early, missing 12 of their first 13 shots while giving up 22 first-half points in the paint to an aggressive Pirates' squad. Bothered by the physical play on the perimeter and away from the ball, USF's offense was slow out of the gate, allowing ECU to lead throughout the first half, ballooning the lead to 12 at the half.

The Pirates pushed the lead to 15 with 8:39 left in the second half, and the Bulls began their comback. Getting 19 points from Williams in the last seven minutes, USF pulled to within nine points with five minutes left, all the way to down four with 0:48 remaining before Williams' final five points played out.

Alisia Jenkins recorded her 17th double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and adding 15 rebounds, making it the first game USF has lost when getting a double-double from Jenkins.

Williams shot 50 percent from the floor, tying the second-highest scoring total in her career. Willams added eight rebounds and four blocks in the loss. USF shot 45 percent from the field in the second half after shooting just 23 percent in the first. The Bulls were 18-26 from the free throw line, snapping a six-game winning streak and losing to a team not named UConn for the first time since Dec. 7, 2014.

The Bulls are back at the Sun Dome on Wednesday, Feb. 18 to take on Tulsa at 7 p.m. and fans can purchase tickets HERE
