TAMPA, April 20, 2018 – The Bulls travel to Houston for their final regular season outdoor meet outside of the state of Florida on Saturday. USF track and field will participate in the 15^th annual J. Fred Duckett Twilight meet hosted by Rice University.

Events begin at 11 a.m. EST on Saturday with the men's discus and will wrap up at 10:55 p.m. EST with the 5k. The meet is the first twilight meet of the season for USF, with the majority of the events taking place on Saturday evening. The Bulls will send 40 student-athletes to Houston for the meet, competing in 20 different events.

The J. Fred Duckett meet is the seventh of eight regular season outdoor meets. The regular season will wrap up next weekend in Jacksonville with the UNF Invitational. The Bulls will then have a weekend off before participating in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in Cincinnati from May 11-13. The Bulls will also be hosting the NCAA East Preliminaries at the USF Track and Field Stadium in May. More information on that event can be found HERE.

As it stands now, the Bulls currently have six male student-athletes and seven female student-athletes that hold qualifying times for the NCAA East Preliminaries. The top 48 marks in each individual event and the top 24 marks in each relay event at the end of the season qualify for the preliminaries.

Junior David Bell (Jacksonville, Fla.) has the top qualifying mark for the Bulls, with his school record performance at last week's Tom Jones Memorial giving him the 11^th-best pole vault mark this season. Bell posted a 17-7.00 last week in Gainesville, winning the event and taking the school record by 2.75 inches.

In addition to Bell's impressive school record in the men's pole vault, the Bulls posted 12 different marks on the USF outdoor top-10 charts, making it a very successful day in Gainesville on April 13. The Bulls also had eight top-five finishes at the one-day meet.

Junior Jada Massie (Bradenton, Fla.) set a new personal best in the women's 100 meters with a time of 11.51 seconds. She finished second among collegiate athletes and 10^th overall in the event and moved into third place on the USF outdoor charts.

Junior Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville, Fla.) had a great run in the 200 meters, running a time of 23.54 seconds. The mark moved her into third place all-time on the USF outdoor charts. She finished fourth among collegiate athletes and ninth overall.

About USF Track and Field
Warren Bye, the USF track and field team has produced 22 All-America selections since 2008 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 10 years. 2016 graduate Matthew O'Neal is USF's first six-time NCAA All-American.
