July 14, 2022

TAMPA, July 14, 2022 – University of South Florida softball standout Georgina Corrick has been recognized among national nominees for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, the NCAA announced Thursday.

The award, established in 1991, honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female collegiate student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions. To be eligible, a nominee must have competed and earned a varsity letter in an NCAA-sponsored sport and must have earned her undergraduate degree by Summer 2022.

She was the first pitcher in conference history to win the Pitcher of the Year award in all four years of eligibility and was also the league's rookie of the year in 2018. In total, Corrick broke or tied 40 different USF or AAC records.

In the classroom, Corrick continued to dominate. In 2021, the American Athletic Conference recognized Corrick as its Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She graduated in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in marine biology and is currently pursuing a master's degree in global sustainability.

Corrick is currently pursuing a professional career with Athletes Unlimited. She participated in the league's inaugural AUX season, finishing in fifth on the league's leaderboard with a 4-2 record and a 2.14 ERA in 39.1 innings pitched.
