Tampa, Fla. Jan. 13, 2023 – South Florida women's basketball (11-6, 3-1) heads to the Lone Star State for a pairing at Rice (8-6, 2-1) in Houston, Texas on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. ET and the game will air live on ESPNU.
 
SETTING THE STAGE
The Bulls are riding a two-game win streak and have won three of their last four contests. USF is looking to hit yet another program milestone, as South Florida needs a single victory to reach 750 all-time program wins. Rice has captured two of its last three games and is coming off a 61-54 loss to Charlotte.
 
THE SOUTH FLORIDA-RICE SERIES
Sunday's clash will be the second-ever meeting between the Bulls and Owls and the first in 34 years. The series began during the 1989-90 season. USF captured the first meeting, 65-64, in Tampa, Fla. (Dec. 28, 1989).
 
LAST TIME OUT
Freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh's career-high 35 points helped South Florida to a 68-52 win against Tulsa on Wednesday night in the Yuengling Center. Blasigh's 35-point night marked the first 35-plus-point game by a Bull in nearly five years. (Doesn't include 40- plus point games)  Redshirt junior Romi Levy added 11 points, four assists, two rebounds, and a single steal on the night. Levy has scored in double-digits eight times this season.
 
BULL LEADERS
South Florida is led by freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh (15.0 ppg). Blasigh (49 3PM) is ranked 9th nationally in total 3-pointers made. Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy (10.9 ppg) is the second Bull averaging double-digit points. Levy earned AAC Honor Roll with back-to-back career-highs - 24 points against Charlotte and 32 points in the win at Tulane.  Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt leads on the glass with 7.6 rebounds per contest, which ranks 7th in the American. Redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson dishes out a team-best 4.2 assists per contest. Wilson's 74 total assists ranks second in the American.

In 2022-23, the Bulls had four players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elena Tsineke (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Sammie Puisis (AAC Newcomer of the Year, All-Conference Second Team) and Carla Brito (AAC All-Freshman Team).
