Wilkes, Dixon Earn Second Straight AAC Weekly Honor Sweep for USF Softball

The Bulls have swept the AAC weekly honors for back-to-back weeks, with Alex Wilkes and Payton Dixon earning Player and Pitcher of the Week

IRVING, Texas, March 24, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team swept the American Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week on Monday. Payton Dixon earned her second straight Pitcher of the Week, while Alex Wilkes was named the AAC Player of the Week.  
 
Wilkes, the sophomore utility player, wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week. She was 7-for-15 at the plate for a batting average of .467. She drove in a team-high nine RBIs. She belted two home runs and had a double to go along with a slugging percentage of .933. Her eight home runs on the season are one shy of moving into a tie for 10th on the USF single-season home run list. She scored five runs and drew two walks. She was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts. Defensively, she posted a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 13 putouts.
 
Redshirt junior Dixon was dominant in the circle and earned her second straight AAC Pitcher of the Week accolade. She was 3-0 on the week and tossed one complete game. She posted an ERA of 0.76 and had 14 strikeouts for the week. Two of her three wins helped the Bulls clinch the ECU series. She held opponents to a .247 batting average. She allowed seven runs, but only two of those runs were earned. She has 44 wins in her career, four wins shy of moving into a tie for ninth in the USF career wins list.
