Sardja, Ortiz-Martinez Earn NFCA All-Region Honors for USF Softball

Belle Sardja and Camille Ortiz-Martinez received their first NFCA All-Region selections

LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 15, 2025 – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2025 All-Region Teams on Thursday. The University of South Florida softball team was represented by Belle Sardja and Camille Ortiz-Martinez on the NFCA Gulf All-Region Third Team.
 
Sardja, the senior right-handed pitcher, earned her first all-region accolade with her third-team selection. She was also named the American Athletic Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player and to the All-AAC First Team. Sardja has recorded nine saves on the season, which set a program record and is tied for second in the NCAA. She has an ERA of 1.79, which is 20th in the NCAA. Opponents are hitting .226 against her for the season. She has 76 strikeouts with 28 walks.
 
Ortiz-Martinez, the junior catcher/utility, landed on the all-region team for the first time in her career with her third-team nod. She is tied for second on the team with 10 home runs, which is tied for seventh in program history. She has been hit by a pitch 15 times this season, which is tied for 20th in the NCAA and set a new USF single-season record. For the season, Ortiz-Martinez has a .322 batting average with seven doubles and one triple. She has driven in 26 runs and has scored 25 times.

In 2022, Georgina Corrick became the first player in softball history to earn the NCAA Pitching Triple Crown. She led the nation in ERA (0.51), Victories (37), and total strikeouts (418).
