DENTON, Texas, (May 13, 2026) - The University of South Florida track and field program travels to Denton, Texas to compete at the 2026 American Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held on May 14-16 at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium.
The meet will be on ESPN+ for all three days, with Noah Frary, Bryan Fetzer, and Maria Trivelpiece on the call.
All sprints, hurdles, and middle distance events will have prelims on Thursday and Friday and the top times will advance to the finals on Saturday.
South Florida enters the championship meet after winning its fifth consecutive American Conference championship earlier this year and carrying momentum from a strong outdoor season that has produced multiple conference-leading marks and nationally ranked performances.
Sprints:
Jaleel Croal continues to lead the conference in the men's 100m and ranks among the top sprinters in the East Region and NCAA. His 10.07 at the Mt. SAC Relays leads the American, ranks seventh in the East Region and sits 12th nationally entering championship weekend.
Croal also ranks second in the American in the 200m with a season-best 20.60 (27
th in the East Region), while
Nathan Metelus sits third in the conference at 20.64 (34
th in the East Region).
In the men's 400m, South Florida holds two of the top three marks in the conference. Singleton leads the American with a personal-best 45.43 (11
th in the East Region and 21
st in the nation), while Metelus ranks third at 45.80 (22
nd in the East Region and 43
rd nationally).
On the women's side,
Lynette Scutari continues to lead the Bulls' sprint group. Scutari ranks eighth in the American in the 100m at 11.59 and tied for 10th in the 200m at 23.75.
Tristen Evatt also ranks tied for 10th in the conference in the 200m after matching the mark at the East Coast Relays.
Relays:
The men's 4x100 relay team of
Shomari Pettigrew, Croal,
Alexavier Monfries and Metelus has emerged as one of the top relay groups in the conference and region. South Florida leads the American with a 38.97 from the Florida Relays, a mark that also ranks sixth in the East Region and 19
th nationally. The quartet later advanced to the Championship of America final at the Penn Relays after running 39.47 in prelims.
The men's 4x400 relay team also enters championship weekend ranked third in the conference after running 3:05.60 at the USF Alumni Invitational.
The women's relay groups have continued to climb throughout the outdoor season. South Florida ranks third in the American in the women's 4x100 relay with a 44.60 from the South Florida Invitational, while the women's 4x400 relay also sits third in the conference at 3:37.49.
Hurdles:
The Bulls have also built one of the conference's deepest hurdle groups.
Darian Mills ranks second in the American in the 400m hurdles after running a personal-best 50.65 at the Penn Relays. The mark also places him 20
th in the East Region and 38
th nationally.
Joshua Crum sits fourth in the conference and 27
th in the East Region at 50.94.
In the 110m hurdles, Will "Jaiden" Smith ranks sixth in the conference with a 13.95, followed closely by Mills at 13.99 and
Kahiem Carby at 14.03.
Doris Quainoo ranks seventh in the American in the 100m hurdles at 13.58, while
Gianna Hansen follows closely in ninth at 13.62.
Middle Distance:
Karim Belmahdi ranks second in the American with a personal-best 800m time of 1:48.05 at the South Florida Invitational.
Mercy Angaamchaab leads the women's mid-distance group, ranking fifth in the conference with an 800m time of 2:09.04 at the Florida Relays.
Jumps:
The Bulls have three out of the top four marks in the conference in the men's pole vault, with
Nikodem Pochopien leading the way with a personal-best 5.35m.
Payton Pitts ranks second at 5.30m and Andreas Kriess sits in fourth (5.15m). Pochopien's pole vault mark ranks 19
th in the East Region and 38
th in the country, while
Payton Pitts is not far behind at 22
nd in the East Region and 43
rd nationally.
Ella Dolce leads South Florida in the women's pole vault, ranking fourth in the American at 3.95m.
Sara Frey ranks ninth in the conference (3.80m).
LaQuan Ellis sits sixth in the American in the men's triple jump with a season-best 15.12m at the Florida Relays.
Alesandro Williams-Cardoso leads USF in the long jump, ranking seventh in the conference at 7.40m.
Zayin Roe ranks fifth in the American and 49
th in the East Region in the women's triple jump with a season-best 12.64m.
Lilah Versluis ranks fifth in the conference and 39
th in the East Region in the high jump with a personal-best 1.75m. She also ranks ninth in the American in the triple jump (12.37m).
Throws:
Esteisy Salas Lozano ranks fifth in the conference and 42
nd in the East Region in the shot put, throwing 15.63m at the Florida Relays.
Annalee Harbison sits fourth in the American in the hammer with a personal-best 57.30m.
Kaden Banks sits in the top 10 in the conference for two events, ranking sixth in the shot put (16.82m) and eighth in the discus (53.25m).

Erik Jenkins is in his seventh season as the USF head coach. The South Florida men's track and field team has won five straight American Conference championships. The Bulls' 4x400m relay squad— Devontie Archer, Alexavier Monfries, Corey Ottey and Gabriel Moronta — claimed a national title with a program-record time of 3:00.42 at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning a top-15 finish as a team. This past season, nine Bulls athletes earned All-America honors, including Kobe Babin, Devontie Archer, Alexavier Monfries, Corey Ottey, Gabriel Moronta, Shomari Pettigrew, Jaleel Croal, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, and Vincent Ugwoke.
