USF Track and Field: Croal Earns Three Medals on Final Day of American Outdoor Championships

Croal won a gold medal in the 100m and 4x100m relay

DENTON, Texas (May 16, 2026) – Jaleel Croal earned three medals in the 4x100m relay, 100m, and 200m on the final day of the American Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium.
 
With two gold medals Saturday, Croal now has 10 individual American Conference titles, the most conference championships in program history, and the third-most in American Conference history.
 
The men finished in third place with 116 points, while the women placed seventh with 66 points.
 
Sprints
Jaleel Croal earned a gold medal in the 100m with a personal-best time of 9.75. His mark ranks as the second-fastest all-conditions 100m time in NCAA history. Cayden Broadnax placed fifth with a personal-best time of 9.96.
 
Nathan Metelus captured the 400m title with a time of 46.02, while Kelsey Singleton secured a silver medal, crossing in 46.21. Markel Jones placed eighth with a time of 47.41.
   
Croal took silver in the 200m with a season-best time of 20.05. Metelus (22.04) and Broadnax (28.49) scored for the Bulls, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively.
 
Lynette Scutari earned three points in the women's 200m with a time of 23.93 to place sixth.
 
Skyler Watts finished seventh in the women's 400m, posting a time of 55.30.
 
Relays
Shomari Pettigrew, Croal, Alexavier Monfries, and Broadnax secured gold in the 4x100m relay with a season-best time of 38.97. South Florida has now won the men's 4x100m relay title in three straight seasons.
 
Doris Quainoo, Tristen Evatt, Scutari, and Watts earned a bronze medal in the women's 4x100m relay with a time of 45.36.
 
Joshua Crum, Monfries, Devontie Archer, and Darian Mills won a silver medal in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:06.28.
 
Middle Distance
Karim Belmahdi earned a gold medal in the 1,500m with a late surge, recording a time of 3:48.45. He sat in seventh place with 200m remaining before sprinting past the field to claim the conference title.
 
 
Nicolas Dovalovsky secured a silver medal with an 800m time of 1:53.36, while Belmahdi placed fifth in 1:54.16.
 
Mercy Angaamchaab won a bronze medal in the women's 800m, recording a time of 2:14.54.
 
Hurdles
Quainoo earned silver in the 100m hurdles for the second consecutive season with a personal-best time of 13.08.

Crum secured a bronze medal in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 50.50. Archer delivered a time of 51.57 to place seventh.
 
Kahiem Carby finished sixth in the 110m hurdles, crossing in 13.76.
 
Jumps
Nikodem Pochopien won a silver medal in the pole vault, jumping 5.22m. Andreas Kreiss took bronze with a mark of 5.12m, while Payton Pitts placed fifth with 5.02m.
 
Zayin Roe placed fourth in the triple jump with a personal-best 13.02m, while Lilah Versluis followed in fifth with a personal-best 13.01m.
 
Versluis also finished fifth in the high jump with a personal-best 1.77m.
 
Up Next
South Florida will send its qualifiers to the NCAA East First Rounds in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 27-30. The NCAA will announce the qualifiers on May 21.
