USF Track and Field Set for East Coast Relays

Bulls enter Jacksonville with conference-leading marks and momentum from the Penn Relays
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., (April 30, 2026) - The University of South Florida track and field program travels to Jacksonville to compete at the East Coast Relays, held May 1-2 at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.
Rankings Entering the East Coast Relays:
Darian Mills earned American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors after a breakout performance at the Penn Relays. Mills placed third out of 39 competitors in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best 50.65, moving to 18th in the East Region and 31st nationally.
South Florida's sprint groups continue to climb among the nation's best.
The men's 4x100 relay team of Shomari Pettigrew, Jaleel Croal, Alexavier Monfries and Nathan Metelus rank first in the American with a 38.97 from the Pepsi Florida Relays. The mark also ranks tied for fourth in the East Region. The same quartet advanced to the Championship of America final at the Penn Relays after running 39.47 in prelims.
Croal has emerged as one of the top sprinters in the conference and region, leading the American in both the 100m and 200m. His 10.07 in the 100m ranks sixth in the East Region and 10th nationally, and his 20.60 in the 200m ranks 20th in the East Region.
In the men's 400m, South Florida continues to stand among the conference's top groups with two of the top three times in the American. Kelsey Singleton leads the conference with a personal-best 45.43, which ranks ninth in the East Region and 14th nationally, while Nathan Metelus sits third in the American at 45.80 and 19th in the East Region.
The Bulls have also built one of the deepest hurdle groups in the conference.
In the 400m hurdles, Mills ranks second in the American at 50.65, while Joshua Crum sits third at 50.94. Both rank among the top 25 in the East Region.
In the 110m hurdles, Will Smith ranks fifth in the American with a 13.95, followed closely by Mills in sixth at 13.99 and Kahiem Carby in seventh at 14.08.
The men's 4x400 relay team ranks third in the American after running 3:05.60 at the USF Alumni Invitational.
On the women's side, the 4x100 relay team ranks third in the American with a 44.60 from the South Florida Invitational, while the women's 4x400 relay also sits third in the conference at 3:37.49.
Lynette Scutari continues to lead the women's sprint group, ranking eighth in the American in the 100m at 11.59 and ninth in the 200m at 23.75. In the hurdles, Doris Quainoo ranks fifth in the conference in the 100m hurdles at 13.58, while Gianna Hansen sits seventh at 13.62.
