? The St. Petersburg Times recaps the Bulls commanding 80-51 victory against Seton Hall. It reads "Janae Stokes had 20 points and made 6 of 10 3-pointers, and Jasmine Wynne scored six of her 14 during a 12-0 first-half run that broke it open as USF routed Seton Hall 80-51 Saturday night."

? Greg Auman takes a look at the Valentines Day victory in his blog. He writes, "The 29-point margin is the most ever in a Big East game for USF; the previous mark was a 28-point win against Georgetown in 2007. For comparison, the Bulls' five Big East wins last season were by a combined 31 points."

? Greg Auman covered last night's annual Lead-Off Banquet in his blog today. Auman writes,"USF's baseball and softball teams gathered at the Pepin Hospitality Center in Tampa on Thursday night for the Bulls' annual Leadoff Banquet, with Yankee greats Goose Gossage, Jorge Posada and Tino Martinez among the celebrity guests for this year's dinner.

"I'm supporting my friends and a great school, a great program," said Gossage, inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame last year. "They asked me if I could come over tonight, and I'm very happy to be here."

Martinez, a volunteer assistant baseball coach for the Bulls and coach Lelo Prado's brother-in-law, has helped build a strong relationship between USF and the Yankees. The two schools met in a spring training exhibition at Legends Field last season, and the Yankees will host a four-team college baseball tournament in Tampa with USF, Florida, Florida State and Miami next spring."

? Will McLaughlin of the Oracle takes look at the Bulls much anticipated match-up with No. 12 Arizona, as part of the USF Wilson Softball Tournament. McLaughlin writes," USF's isn't reflecting on its 4-1 start last weekend. Instead, its focus is on a difficult opponent ahead ? the No. 12 Arizona Wildcats.

“It's going to be a huge weekend, especially with Arizona coming in,” said senior second baseman Britta Giddens. “We're going to work hard this week and play our best.”

The Bulls host the Wildcats (2-2) on Friday and Saturday for the USF Wilson Tournament at the USF Softball Complex."

? In his blog, Greg Auman updates where former USF soccer standout Jordan Seabrook stands after his preseason camp with the Colorado Rapids. He writes,"Seabrook said he hopes to land in a preseason camp with the United Soccer Leagues, which are less established than MLS but would give him more of an opportunity for playing time with the hopes of returning to an MLS roster for next year's preseason. The USL will add the Tampa Bay Rowdies as an expansion team in 2010."

? Kelli Polson of the Oracle previews men's tennis's match with Georgia State.

? Kerry Klecic writes that Stan Heath's Bulls are ready for the reeling Notre Dame but it won't be an easy task as USF visits South Bend for a clash with the Irish.

Klecic writes," There's little doubt South Florida has faced tough competition this season in the Big East, but the team is about to face its toughest stretch so far.

The Bulls (8-15, 3-8), coming off a 77-62 loss to Providence on Tuesday, will face Notre Dame in South Bend on Sunday and play Georgetown and Connecticut the same week.

USF will try to improve upon a poor shooting performance against the Friars. The Bulls shot 39 percent from the field and went 5-of-16 from the free-throw line. There's little doubt South Florida has faced tough competition this season in the Big East, but the team is about to face its toughest stretch so far.

? Brian Ackley of the Lake Wales News features Bulls guard Dominique Jones, a former Lake Wales Highlander. The article takes a look back at Jones' effort in leading the Bulls over then No. 8 Marquette. He writes,"The University of South Florida basketball team wrote some major school history Saturday afternoon in Tampa, and a former Lake Wales Highlander was the lead author.

Sophomore Dominique Jones, who played at Lake Wales High School, hit a driving layup in the final 20 seconds to lift the Bulls to a 57-56 win over Marquette who came into the game ranked No. 8 in the country.

It was the first time in the Bulls' 38-year basketball history they had beaten a Top-10 ranked school."

The Ratings Are In
In it's first ever show “UFC FIGHT NIGHT” netted huge numbers for Spike TV this past saturday night held at the USF Sun Dome.

The article reads,"Spike TV's live “UFC Fight Night” in Tampa, FL, the first UFC card in the city's history, served as a showcase for some of mixed martial arts' rising stars, and garnered strong ratings in the process. UFC Fight Night on Spike TV ranked #1 in Men 18-49 and Men 18-34 among ad-supported cable for its time period... Overall, the Spike telecast reached 1.7 million people with a 1.60 rating Men 18-34 (462,000 viewers), a 1.55 rating in Men 18-49 (869,000 viewers), and a 1.3 HH rating. ? Brett McMurphy takes a look at last night's loss to Providence. He writes," Well, that certainly was fun while it lasted. Coming off the biggest upset in program history, the University of South Florida followed it up with a big, fat thud Tuesday night against Providence."

? Joe Henderson of the Tampa Tribune drops his opinion on the Bulls performance last night against Providence.

He writes,"...The game had been threatening to get away from the University of South Florida, but now the Bulls were within five points of Providence.

The visitors called for time. A little more than four minutes remained. The band was blaring. Students were cheering. The gathering of 3,340 was actually daring to believe."

? Greg Auman recaps the Bulls 77-62 loss to the Friars last night at the USF Sun Dome. He writes," After USF's upset of No. 8 Marquette on Friday night, coach Stan Heath said he didn't want the historic win to be a "Christmas experience," the kind of event you celebrate once a year.

Four days later, his Bulls had the energy and excitement you might expect to find ... on Dec. 29.

USF, seeking back-to-back Big East wins for the first time, saw none of the same emotion or intensity Tuesday night in the Sun Dome, unable to keep up with Providence in a 77-62 loss."

? Auman writes that the Bulls are not the only football team in country scrambling for a 12th game for 2009. He writes," Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Texas Tech humbly did it last fall. Duke and North Carolina have chosen to do it this season.

So if USF indeed does have to fill its 2009 schedule with a second Division I-AA team, the Bulls won't be alone, knowing one of those two wins won't count toward the six required for bowl eligibility."

? Kerry Klecic of the Oracle recaps last night's game. He writes,"Sophomore guard Dominique Jones was scoring at will, but it wasn't enough for South Florida to make history.

Jones finished with 29 points and eight rebounds, but Providence's hot shooting prevented USF from winning consecutive Big East games, and the Bulls fell 77-62 Tuesday night at the Sun Dome.

“I don't know what to say,” said USF coach Stan Heath. “I know Dominique was hungry. He was a little teary-eyed after the game. He was really disappointed.”

? The Oracle's Phil Neary features Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year, USF men's soccer forward Zak Boggs.

He are the first couple paragraphs; "South Florida men's soccer forward Zak Boggs added another trophy to his mantel after being named the 2008-2009 Big East Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Friday ? the conference's most prestigious academic honor.

The award, voted on by the Big East Academic Affairs Committee, is given to the top academic male performer throughout all sports in the Big East conference. This is the first time a USF athlete has won the award.

“It's pretty great,” Boggs said. “All the male athletes in every sport ? it's pretty hard to fathom how many athletes there are.  There's like 300 male athletes at USF alone, it's pretty amazing.”

For winning the award, Boggs will receive $4,000 in scholarships that can be used toward graduate or professional studies. He recently completed his biomedical science degree ? earning a 4.0 GPA ? and is working towards a master's in economics."

? Greg Auman previews the tonight's matchup with the Providence Friars at the Sun Dome. He writes,"USF is coming off a huge win Friday against No. 8 Marquette, the highest-ranked team ever to fall to the Bulls. ... Providence has lost three straight, but those were against Connecticut, Villanova and West Virginia, who are a combined 22-9 in Big East play."

? In his preview of tonight's game against Providence, Brett McMurphy writes that the Bulls will try to accomplish something they have not been able to do since 2005; win back-to-back conference games.

McMurphy writes,"In USF's last 100 regular-season conference games dating to 2003 in Conference USA and the Big East, the Bulls have managed back-to-back victories exactly one time. That occurred under former coach Robert McCullum in 2005 with consecutive victories against Southern Miss and Tulane.

So as big as USF's upset of No. 8 Marquette was Friday night, tonight's game against Providence could be viewed as even bigger for the program."

? The Oracle's Kerry Klecic takes a look at the Bulls match up against the Friars.

He writes,"If the Bulls win against Providence (14-9, 6-5) tonight at 7 at the Sun Dome, they will have the most Big East wins in a single season for South Florida.

Coach Stan Heath said the Bulls should be able to do that as long as they get consistency from the bench and their role players."

? Oracle columnist, Alex Cobb believes that the Friday's win over Marquette was more than just a win. He writes,"With one layup, the Bulls took down their first top-10 opponent in program history ? and with one win, USF basketball changed."

? Rivals.com honored Bulls defensive end coach Kevin Patrick as one of the top-25 recruiters in the country.

The Buzz:
"USF always has been one of the most under-appreciated recruiting programs nationally, but that perception changed quite a bit this season, mainly because of the efforts of Patrick. He helped USF beat one of the state's "Big Three" for the first time on a major four-star national recruit when he got Ryne Giddins to come aboard. He also landed two other four-star recruits ? Jason Pierre-Paul and Jacquain Williams ? from the Kansas junior college ranks, and Julius Forte is a talented three-star defensive end. His signings averaged 3.17 stars."
