? Cory McCartney of Sports Illustrated believes head coach Mike Leavitt and his squad are ready to take the BIG EAST title and be a national contender in 2009 after breaking into the top 10 the last two seasons. He writes, "For a program that's only been in existence since scientists cloned Dolly the sheep and James Cameron sunk the Titanic, however, USF has come impressively close. 'We started with a trailer and no goal posts,' said Leavitt, who ran the Bulls' first team meeting under a tree because the school didn't have a football facility."

? ESPN's Brian Bennett talked with USF offensive coordinator Mike Canales about spring practice and what to expect for the upcoming season. "The one thing I was very pleased about during the spring was that our young kids had the chance to get a lot more reps. That's just so vital to our success, I believe," Canales said in the interview.

? Bennett also gives his take on who he believes are the most indispensable players at each school in the BIG EAST.
